QPS to use helicopters, jet skis and divers in huge training exercise at Main Beach

Police from the Gold Coast will be hovering in helicopters, skimming on jet skis and diving into the ocean’s depths as part of a large-scale search and rescue exercise tomorrow morning.

The training scenario at Main Beach will be built around the sinking of a large commercial vessel which requires a helicopter winching rescue to save crew.

Gold Coast officers will work alongside Surf Life Savers and Volunteer Marine Rescue in the training drill.
