Ace Buchan and Currumbin local Bede Durbidge have secured their spot in the quarters and will face off against each other in the first final.
Gabriel Medina, Kolohe Andino, Kelly Slater and John John Florence have also secured a spot.

Australians Kai Otton, Dion Atkinson and Owen Wright as well as American Brett Simpson are still battling it out for their spot now.
