RECALL: Christmas Wreath candle holder pulled from shelves

A Christmas Wreath candle holder sold at Big W stores around the country has been recalled over fears it could spark a fire.

“BIG W takes product safety very seriously and wishes to advise customers of a product recall on the following product,” the company said in a statement on Friday.

The affected Christmas candle holders were available in two colours: Pink and Gold Article number 689023 and Green and Silver Article number 689054 (The article numbers can be found at the back of the box).

Big W said the wreath surrounding the candle holder could catch fire and remain alight longer than permitted.

“Potential burns or fire causing property damage, serious injury or death could occur.”

The product has been available for sale in stores and online from 18 September 2018 to 7 November 2018.

People are being urge to stop using the product and to return it to any BIG W store for a full refund. No proof of purchase is required.
