RICHMOND ruckman Ty Vickery is facing a lengthy AFL suspension after whacking Dean Cox in the chin in last night’s 17-point win over West Coast.
The incident left Cox with a concussion, and not able to play the remainder of the match.
Vickery was also suspended for two matches in June for striking North Melbourne’s Michael Firrito.

But Tigers coach Damien Hardwick defended Vickery’s character after the match, saying the exchange wasn’t ideal, but he understood why Vickery bit back.
“If you’ve got a couple of lunatics hanging over the fence yelling abuse – I don’t know any other profession in the world where you can walk into a bank and start calling them names like that,” he said.
“But it is what it is. I’d prefer it if Ty didn’t react to the fans, but it’s a volatile game. It’s a hard game.”
Eagles coach Adam Simpson was left fuming over the incident.
The Gold Coast Suns are set to take on the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba today.
