Sashi Cheliah has been crowned the winner of MasterChef Australia for 2018, after securing the highest score ever seen in a Grand Finale!
Sashi beat fellow finalist Ben Borsht by a whopping 16 points, securing victory with a grand total of 93/100.
Not only did he take home the MasterChef Australia title and trophy, the 39-year-old prison officer from South Australia also won a cash prize of $250,000 to kick-start his food dream and a monthly column in Australian food magazine, Delicious.

Sashi said he was thankful to be sharing this life-changing moment with his family and fellow contestants.
“MasterChef has been an amazing ride for me. I never thought I would come this far in the competition and to win is icing on the cake,” he said.
“The overwhelming support from my fans and family has made me realise my potential, and it has motivated me to achieve great heights.”
Sashi revealed his food dream is to start an Indian and South East Asian fusion restaurant, serving authentic food.
“I also want to work with ex-prisoners to provide assistance, rehabilitation and opportunities to obtain employment in the food industry,” Sashi said.
Runner-up Ben was awarded $40,000 courtesy of Canstar, while third placed Khanh Ong was also awarded $10,000.
