SCAM ALERT: Spotify users warned of ‘convincing’ email scam

Spotify users are being warned of a dangerous and convincing email scam currently doing the rounds.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority alerted users to the scam on Thursday, urging them to be extremely vigilant.

“Do you have a Spotify Premium account? Be wary of emails with the subject ‘Your Spotify Premium payment isn’t working’” ACMA wrote.

Apparently the email will ask you to ‘update your billing’, with a link taking you to a fake sign-in page almost identical to the real Spotify website.

“The fake website is extremely convincing and is a reminder to be vigilant about keeping your personal information safe and secure”

Anyone who receives the email is being told to delete it immediately.
