UPDATE: A man reported missing from the Byron Bay area has been located safe and well.
The 67-year-old man was found in bushland a short time ago.

EARLIER: POLICE are appealing for information to help find a missing Byron Bay man.
John Batcheldor, aged 67, was last seen walking south on Tallow Beach, near the Cape Byron Headland, between 3.30pm and 4pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 September 2014).
Extensive searches of the area have failed to locate Mr Batcheldor, and police are now seeking information from the public to help find him.
Mr Batcheldor is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, and with a grey beard. He is balding, with the remaining hair being short and grey.
At the time he went missing, Mr Batcheldor was wearing an oversized blue raincoat; an orange v-neck t-shirt with black lettering; and green Billabong board shorts.
Mr Batcheldor, who has dementia, is also wearing a stainless-steel id bracelet.
Police have been told Mr Batcheldor has walked long distances – up to 50 kilometres – when he has gone missing in the past.
His family has also indicated Mr Batcheldor may try to walk to the Yamba area, where he and his wife live.
