Search for man missing from Tamborine Mountain

UPDATE @ 6.00am, September 23: New details have been released about the man missing from Tamborine Mountain over the weekend.

62-year-old Trevor Wilson was initially reported missing on Sunday morning (September 22), though police have confirmed overnight that he’s actually been missing since Saturday morning (September 21).

Mr Wilson was last seen at his Katoomba Crescent home on Friday evening by his wife, though he was gone when she woke up on Saturday morning.

Mr Wilson is understood to be a keen bushwalker, with police and SES volunteers conducting searches of the nearby Botanical Gardens and Heritage Centre as well as tracks he is known to frequent.

So far, searches have been unsuccessful.

Mr Wilson is described as Caucasian with a proportionate build, around 170 centimetres tall with short grey hair and green eyes.

Police say it’s unknown exactly what he might have been wearing when he left home, though suspect he’s wearing glasses, a shirt, shorts, walking shoes and a hooded jumper.

He did not take a wallet or a mobile phone with him.

Officers are concerned for Mr Wilson’s well-being and are urging him to make contact immediately, so that his loved ones know he is okay.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Wilson or knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact police.

EARLIER @10.00am, September 22: Police are appealing for urgent public help to find a man missing from Tamborine Mountain.

Trevor Wilson, 62, was reported missing this morning.

He was last seen by his wife at their home on Katoomba Crescent last night but he was gone when she woke up this morning.

Police say this is out of character and they are concerned for his welfare.

Mr Wilson also left without his wallet or phone.

Police say he is a keen bushwalker but searches of the nearby Botanical Gardens and Heritage Centre which he often goes to have not uncovered anything.
