Security increased at Qld Parliament following canadian attack

SECURITY has been increased at Queensland’s Parliament following the deadly shooting in Ottawa, Canada.

Queensland Police Commissioner Ian Stewart told the ABC there would be more frequent security patrols around Parliament House and the executive building in Brisbane’s CBD.

A similar security upgrade will also take place at Federal Parliament in Canberra.

Commissioner Stewart said the Canadian shooting would not affect security plans for the upcoming G20 Leaders’ Summit in Brisbane next month, with contingency plans already in place.
