SENIORS WEEK: Gold Coasters to ‘twist and shout’ to the 60s and 70s

The Mayor’s Seniors Week concerts are returning to HOTA (Home of the Arts) next month, with Gold Coast seniors being encouraged to join in on the fun.

This year’s theme celebrates the sensational 60s and 70s, with tracks from The Beatles, ABBA, Elvis Presley, The Bee Gees and more guaranteed to get patrons grooving.

Mayor Tom Tate said the concerts are happening on Thursday 22 August, with tickets already being snapped up.

“Tickets are going like hotcakes, so make sure to snap up yours from HOTA before they all go.

“Get dressed up in your best 60s and 70s gear and make a day of it. I’m always told by attendees what a highlight the show is and I’m sure this year will be no different.”

Mayor Tate says Seniors Week is a way to “give back” to those who have done so much for our community.

Tickets for the concerts are free and available from the HOTA Box Office or by phoning 5588 4000.

Other Seniors Week highlights include dance classes, over 60’s social paddle-boarding, wellness talks, library workshops and more.
