THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious crash at Palm Beach which seriously injured a 32-year-old woman and forced the closure of the Gold Coast Highway for three hours today.
It’s understood two vehicles collided at the intersection of Palm Beach Ave and the Gold Coast Highway around 6am Saturday morning.
There are unconfirmed reports the accident happened after a male driver sped through a red light at the intersection.

The driver of the vehicle the man struck, a 32-year-old woman, was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital for observation.
The highway was closed for around three hours, but has since re-opened.
