A TEENAGE girl bitten by a shark at a beach north of Sydney today has posted pictures of her injuries on Facebook.
Kirra-Belle Olsson was surfing off Avoca Beach – almost 100km north of the state’s capital – when she was bitten on the ankle by what was said to be a small one-metre shark around 6:30 AEDT on Friday.
The competition surfer told media the shark tried to drag her off her board after snatching at her leg, puncturing her calf and foot.

She was treated on the beach by bystanders who drove her to Gosford Hospital.
Gosford City Council closed Avoca Beach and North Avoca Beach as a result of the attack and lifeguards were patrolling on jet skis.
The teen’s since taken to Facebook, posting a series of shocking photos of the bite marks on her body.
