Shock as bushwalker falls 40m to his death from cliff

A young man has fallen more than 40m to his death from a popular sightseeing spot just south of Sydney.

Emergency services were called to a cliff near the southern end of Seacliff Bridge at Clifton about 12.40pm Saturday, following reports a man had fallen onto rocks.

It’s understood the man, aged in his 20s, was bushwalking with friends when he slipped from the edge of the cliff and fell more than 40m, police said.

Officers from Wollongong Police District attended and a crime scene was established.

Police Rescue have since retrieved the man’s body.
