Sibling fight ends in stabbing on the Gold Coast

UPDATE @ 4.30PM: Police have now charged a man over a stabbing at Miami.

The injured man remains in the Gold Coast University Hospital after allegedly suffering wounds to his back, stomach and leg during an altercation at a home on Mountain View Avenue. .

A 44-year-old man has now been charged with wounding (domestic violence offence).

He’s been remanded in custody and will front Southport Magistrates Court on January 11, 2019.

EARLIER @ 6AM: A MAN has been stabbed multiple times during a fight with his brother on the Gold Coast overnight.

The stabbing happened around 11.00pm, when the pair became involved in a physical altercation at a home on Mountain View Avenue in Miami.

Police say one of the men armed himself with a knife, resulting in the other man sustaining a number of stab wounds to his back, stomach and leg.

The injured man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Police say both men are currently assisting with inquiries.

Investigations are continuing.
