Police arrest armed man in Brisbane siege

A KNIFE-wielding man who sparked a three-hour siege south of Brisbane this morning has been arrested.

Police were called to a McCormack Court address at Collginwood Park around 11am where they were allegedly confronted by a man armed with a ‘large knife’ shouting threats in the street.

Officers declared an emergency situation while the Specialist Emergency Response Team (SERT) responded to the incident.

McCormack Ct and the intersection with Forgan Smith St were closed, bordered by TJ Ryan Ave and Theodore Ct.

Residents were urged to stay inside while police dealt with the issue.

It’s not yet known what caused the mans outburst.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
