Police have revealed that a sling-shot type device was used to cause damage to the Southport Courthouse yesterday.
Three windows were damaged, showering shattered glass over the fifth floor of the building sometime before 8.00am, forcing the courthouse to close for the day.
Repairs are still ongoing, with a board of wood filling one of the windows, while investigations are also underway.

Police say that it was likely a sling-shot type device, rather than a firearm that did the damage.
They’re still working to identify the projectiles that hit the building, though they have confirmed that they did not penetrate the glass, but they did cause the fifth-floor window to shatter.
Investigations are still underway.
