THE Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service will tomorrow conduct a planned burn within Springbrook National Park.
The low-intensity burn will be carried out in the Numinbah Valley, starting Tuesday August 12, as part of the annual hazard reduction management program for parks and forests.
The aim of the burn is to reduce the volume of forest fuels and to create a mosaic pattern of burnt and unburnt areas within the park.

This will help reduce the intensity of any subsequent wildfires and provide favourable conditions for natural forest regeneration.
As a result, smoke may be seen in the Numinbah Valley, Springbrook, Advancetown and Beechmont areas.
