Search underway for man missing at SEQ dam

UPDATE: A search has resumed this morning for a man whose boat was found floating in the middle of a southeast Queensland dam.

Police are searching for any sign of the man or what may have happened to him after his abandoned vessel was spotted on Somerset Dam around  6pm on Sunday.

A air and water search was launched on Sunday, and those efforts resumed at first light on Monday.

EARLIER: DOZENS of police are tonight frantically searching for a man reported missing at Somerset Dam in southeast Queensland.

Police say a boat, believed to have been carrying the man, was found empty at the dam around 6pm on Sunday.

Various resources, including water police and PolAir 1 have since been deployed to assist in the search.

There is no further information available at this stage.

Massive Haul of Drugs and Cash Found after Raids

Almost 1.8 million dollars in cash and 78 kilograms of cannabis have been seized during raids in Brisbane’s south.

About 446 grams of ice, 232 grams of cocaine, 220 grams of MDMA and 90 grams of heroin was also allegedly found during a search of two homes by detectives at Forest Lake yesterday.

An undisclosed amount of cash and drugs has been seized during separate raids in four Brisbane suburbs today.

Boy, 10, found dead at Brisbane home

Detectives and forensic investigators are scouring a home on Brisbane’s southside for evidence after the death of a 10-year-old boy.

Paramedics were called to the home on Mt Gravatt-Capalaba Rd at Mackenzie just before 5pm yesterday.

When they found the boy they notified police.

Authorities say it is too early to know if the death was suspicious.

A number of witnesses, including people who were home at the time, are being interviewed by police.

Police said the mother of the boy was taken to hospital for an unrelated medical matter.

There is no further information available at this time.
