Man mauled by dog at Logan

A man’s been attacked by a dog at Logan.

The 31 year old victim has bite marks on his arms and legs after he was bitten on Tracey Street in Marsden at 11:18am.

He has been taken to Logan Hospital, where he is in a stable condition.  The Queensland Ambulance Service isn’t sure if the dog was his or someone else’s.

And there are reports coming in that a second person has been attacked by a dog at Logan.  Paramedics are on their way to the scene.

Dog attack in Labrador

A man has been mauled by a dog in Labrador in the early hours of Monday morning.

Paramedics were called to a home at about 1:10am, where they found the victim with bite marks on his left arm.

The man, in his 30’s, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The Queensland Ambulance Service said it would not be releasing the name of the street the attack happened on in case the animal was the only dog living on that street.

Woman, 81, undergoes surgery after being mauled by dog in NSW

An 81-year-old woman has undergone surgery after being mauled by a dog in Newcastle.

Police say the elderly woman was walking her dog along Queen’s Road in New Lambton around 12.30pm when a second dog bailed her up.

The dog reportedly lunged at the woman and bit her and her dog multiple times before bystanders managed to pulled the animal off the woman.

The 81-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to John Hunter Hospital where she underwent surgery overnight. The woman’s dog also suffered minor injuries.

Police said the woman knew the dog.

An investigation into the incident is now under way and the dog has been secured.

Officers are liaising with the dog’s owner and local council to determine the next course of action.

Pet dog found guarding missing cyclist’s dead body in Brisbane forest

A man who failed to return home after venturing out on evening bike ride through Toohey State Forest with his pet dog in Brisbane’s south on Friday has been found dead.

Police said initial investigations suggested that the 42-year-old had died from injuries sustained in a cycling accident.

The deceased man’s loyal pet Staffordshire Terrier never left his side. The dog was found guarding his owner’s body shortly after 4pm on Saturday.

The 42-year-old was reported missing at 11pm on Friday after setting out around 5.30pm and failing to return home.

Stray dog jumps in car and bites child on face at NSW service station

A six-year-old boy has been bitten on the face by a stray dog that jumped inside his father’s car at a service station in Sydney’s west.

Police say the young boy was his father and brother at a servo on Blaxcell Street at Granville around 11.30am on Saturday when a brown dog with a muscular build and no collar approached him.

Investigators have been told the dog allowed the boy to pat him, but when the boy entered his father’s vehicle, the dog reportedly jumped inside next to him and bit him on the face before running away.

The child was taken to the Westmead Children’s Hospital for treatment for a laceration above his eye.

Police were called and conducted a search of the scene however were unable to locate the dog or its owner.
