Girl hospitalised after being stabbed in the back on Sydney street

A girl has been stabbed in an unprovoked attack on a street in Sydney’s west.

Police say they were called to Swinson Road at Blacktown around 8.30pm following reports that a girl had been injured.

Officers arrived to find the girl had been stabbed in the back. Police say the girl is believed to be aged in her teens.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead for treatment to non life threatening injuries.

It’s understood the girl was with a boy of similar age when they were approached by a male who threatened the pair and demanded the girl’s backpack.

An altercation took place, before the man stabbed the girl and fled with her backpack.

Police sealed off the scene and searched the area, but the girl’s alleged attacker could not be found.

Police are hoping to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with a thick black beard and a large build. He was seen wearing dark clothing.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Man stabbed multiple times in Sydney home

A man has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed multiple times in a Sydney home overnight.

Police were called to the home on Preston Way, Claymore just after 1.30am on Tuesday following reports of a stabbing.

When officers arrived they found a man, believed to be aged in his late twenties, suffering a number of stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Detectives have set up a crime scene at the home as they investigate the incident.

Man rushed to hospital after Anzac Day stabbing on the Gold Coast

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after being stabbed in the stomach, allegedly by a woman, following an argument on the Gold Coast.

The man was stabbed at an address on Egret Street in Burleigh Waters shortly before midday.

The 49-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious, but stable condition.

A woman has been taken into police custody and is assisting officers with their investigation.

Police have confirmed the man and woman are known to each other.

Man found stabbed to death, woman seriously injured in Hobart home

A man has been found dead and a woman injured, covered in blood, after a suspected stabbing at a home in Hobart this morning.

Emergency services were called to the French Street home in Sandy Bay at around 4am.

Upon entering the home, it’s alleged officers found the body of a man and an injured woman covered in blood.

Police said both the man and woman had “injuries consistent with knife wounds.”

The woman was taken Royal Hobart Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The pair were reportedly known to each other.

Police say they are not looking for a suspect, with initial investigations indicating no one else was involved.

Man, 58, undergoes emergency surgery after savage stabbing in Qld

A 58-year-old man has undergone emergency surgery after being stabbed multiple times during an altercation north of Mackay.

The man was stabbed in the lower chest and abdomen, allegedly by a 53-year-old man, in Slade Point just after 2am on Saturday.

Moments earlier, police allege the 53-year-old man repeatedly drove his car into the passenger door of the victim’s vehicle.

The 58-year-old was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital for in a serious condition.

He remains in a serious but stable condition after having undergone emergency surgery.

The 53-year-old was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court on Monday.
