Target recalls popular lollies over fears of plastic contamination

A nationwide recall has been issued for packets of Jersey Caramels sold at Target, over fears they could be contaminated with plastic.

The recall notice for The Fabulous Food Company Jersey Caramels was posted on the Food Standards Australia New Zealand website on Friday.

“The recall is due to the presence of foreign matter (plastic)” the notice reads.

“Food products containing plastic may cause injury if consumed.”

The affected lollies, which have been available for sale at Target stores around the country, have Best Before dates ranging from August 2018 up to and including February 2021.

Anyone who has bought this product should not eat it and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
