A TEENAGER has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after he was beaten unconscious on a Gold Coast beach.
Police said the 18-year-old male from Upper Coomera was sitting on a stretch of beach near the intersection of Old Burleigh Rd and Margaret Ave at Broadbeach when he was allegedly attacked.
It’s alleged the teen was approached by an unknown man who engaged him in a conversation before unleashing a vicious assault.

The 18-year-old lost consciousness after he was repeatedly punched about the head. Police said he woke up to find his mobile phone and shoes missing.

He was transported to the Gold Coast University hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening facial and head injuries.
It follows a string of violent attacks along the coastal strip over the weekend where it’s estimated around 30,000 teenagers have descended for the annual end-of-year Schoolies celebrations.
Just after midnight Saturday, an 18-year-old male from Victoria was sitting alone on Surfers Paradise beach when he was allegedly bashed and robbed of his belongings by three teens of Pacific Islander appearance.
Investigations into both incidents are continuing.
