Teen boy charged over crash which killed 17yo girl

A TEENAGE boy has been charged over a horror crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl in Dulong.

The accident happened on March 27, when a car travelling northbound along Dulong Road left the roadway and crashed into a tree around 11.30pm.

Emergency services managed to free the alleged 17-year-old male driver from the wreckage as well as the passenger, a 17-year-old girl.


Both were transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, however sadly, the girl passed away en route.

Following investigations, a 17-year-old Woombye boy was issued with a Notice To Appear for driving without due care and attention.

Police say he will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
