Teen driver killed in crash with power pole

A teenage boy has died after his car collided with a power pole near Newcastle early this morning.

The accident happened on East Seaham Road at East Seaham just before 4.30am.

Police said it’s believed a Subaru Liberty had left the road and hit a power pole.


The teenage boy behind the wheel of the car was airlifted from the scene, however sadly he died en route to John Hunter Hospital.

A crime scene has been established, with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
