Teen girl fighting for life after Gold Coast crash

A 17-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after a horror crash at Tallai overnight.

Police say preliminary information suggests around 9.30pm, a ute was travelling along The Panorama when it crossed the Worongary Road intersection and crashed into an embankment.

The teenage girl, who was a passenger in the car, sustained critical chest and back injuries.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The 17-year-old male driver was also taken to the same hospital with serious non-life threatening arm and leg injuries.

Gold Coast Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash and is appealing for anyone with information to contact police.
