UPDATE: A TEENAGER has been taken to hospital with knife wounds after a violent stabbing attack at Westfield Helensvale this afternoon.
Police swooped on the shopping centre shortly around 3.10pm following reports a man was seen wielding a “large carving knife” while chasing another person through the complex.
Multiple crews responded and found a 16-year-old boy bleeding from the head.

A police spokesperson said he’s since been taken to hospital for treatment to a “small laceration”.
Officers have saturated the area around the shopping centre and nearby Helensvale train station in the search for two male offenders – one said to be armed with a metal bar, and the other with a large knife – who fled the scene before police arrived.
One of the men has been described as having a large build, dark complexion, wearing a black hoody and tan pants with the right knee rolled up.
There is no further information available at this time.

It’s understood he’d been chasing someone through the shopping centre.
He’s been described as having a large build, dark complexion, wearing a black hoody and tan pants with the right knee rolled up.
Multiple crews have descended on the centre, with unconfirmed reports one person has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries.
Police are searching the area for the knife-wielder who remains at large.
