COURT documents have revealed a Chilean man has been charged for buying a teenage mother’s newborn baby over the internet.
It’s understood the baby was handed over by her 18-year-old mother on November 6, 2013 – two days after she was born.
News.com.au reports the woman exchanged her baby in return for $US102 ($A110) and the cost of giving birth at hospital.

The case first came to the attention of authorities in January after the biological father reported the infant had been kidnapped.
The baby’s buyer and mother will both stand trial on November 11.
