Teen worker locks himself in back room after man with axe storms servo

A TEENAGER working nights at a service station north of Brisbane has locked himself in a back room and called police after a man with an axe stormed the store overnight.

It’s understood the armed man entered the servo on Old North Road at Warner shortly after 1am and pulled out a small axe while demanding money.

Police said the 18-year-old staffer who was standing behind the front counter ran out the back of the shop, locked the door and called police.
