Teens spend hours trapped in car wreck after shocking crash

THREE young men are lucky to be alive following a shocking single vehicle crash in Sydney’s west.

Police said a Nissan Sylvia smashed into a tree on Mulgoa Road in Penrith about 9.15pm last night.

The 18-year-old driver crawled out of the wreck unharmed while his two passengers, also aged 18, were trapped.

Police said it took emergency services two hours to cut the passengers out of the car.

After being freed, they were both taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment. Miraculously, they had only minor injuries.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating circumstances surrounding the crash.

They’re appealing for anyone who witnessed it, or the events leading up to it, to come forward.
