Thai Cave Rescue: Australian journalist pens deal with leading publisher to write tell-all book

AUSTRALIAN journalist James Massola has signed a deal with leading publisher Allen and Unwin to write a tell-all book on the miraculous cave rescue in Thailand.

James was on the ground from start to finish and witnessed first-hand what is being described as one of the most heroic and inspiring stories of our time.

It’s the extraordinary tale of 12 young boys who spent 18 days trapped in a flooded Thailand cave with their coach.

The remarkable rescue captivated the world’s attention, taking place in one of the five most dangerous caves on the planet.

James’ book, titled ‘The Great Cave Rescue”, will be published on October 1 and will cover the entire rescue operation.

In a statement released by Allen and Unwin on Friday, James said he was thrilled to be able to tell the full story.

“Good news stories are few and far between,” he said.

“I can scarcely believe I was there to witness first-hand the miracle of Tham Luang.

“I’ve always felt being a journalist is an incredible privilege, witnessing major events and writing the first draft of history.

“An now I’m thrilled to be able to actually tell the full story in a book with Allen & Unwin.”
