Thousands of dollars worth of fish killed in pet shop blaze

Heartless vandals have killed thousands of dollars worth of exotic fish after torching a pet shop in Sydney.

Fire and Rescue NSW were called to the store on The Great Western Highway at Emu Plains just before 10.00pm on Monday.

After extinguishing a blaze inside the shop, police discovered that the business had been broken into and dozens of fish tanks had been smashed, killing hundreds of tropical and freshwater fish.

It’s understood one tank alone contained fish valued at a whopping $10,000.

A crime scene has since been established and investigations are ongoing.
