A GOLD Coast family entertainment centre has won a prestigious international award.
Timezone Surfers Paradise has been awarded Top Family Entertainment Centre in the world at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) awards ceremony in Florida.
The award is a major coup for the amusement parlour, which is the largest indoor family entertainment centre in Australia and the biggest Timezone in the world.

More than 40 finalists from around the world were assessed by IAAPA to determine the winner. Previous winners of the award have come from Europe, Hawaii and Iceland.
Timezone Surfers Paradise Director Mr Juan Uribe believes they took out the award because they always look at a family-friendly business through the eyes of a child.
“What motivates me is when the parents come and tell me they’ve learnt something about their kids. What you learn from children is incredible,” he says.
Uribe said their focus is on family friendly entertainment.
“We changed the concept to focus on families by bringing in attractions and activities rather than video games. Now 80 per cent of our visitors are families,” he says.
