The Gold Coast Titans will kick off their 2018 NRL season tonight when they take on the Canberra Raiders at CBUS Stadium.
It’s a new look Titans make-up after a disappointing 2017 with a raft of new players, a new head coach and new team owners.
Coach Garth Brennan is yet to confirm the starting 17 for tonight’s clash, but earlier this week named seven newcomers in his squad including Bryce Cartwright, Jai Arrow, Leilani Latu and Michael Gordon.

Brennan has been happy with the side’s preparation.
“They’ve trained outstanding this week, they’ve been really sharp,” Brennan said.
Brennan said he’s not expecting “Harlem Globetrotter” type footy from Cartwright, but will be happy with a strong defensive effort.
“He doesn’t be having to be those things for me to be happy with him he just needs to do his job defensively and get 70 mins out in the middle which he’s never before in an NRL game.”
Tonight’s game is Brennan’s first outing as a coach in the NRL admitting this week he would be feeling the nerves come Sunday.
But he remains quietly confident.
“It’s my first crack at an NRL position but I’ve been a head coach in most of my time in my coaching career.”
“It’s important we start the season well, we’re obviously on the road for 7 weeks after that, while we’ve got some home games we’re not back on the Gold Coast at CBUS until round 8 against Cronulla.”
There are still tickets available for tonight’s game.
Gates at CBUS Stadium open at 4pm with kick off at 5.30pm.
Anyone heading to the match is reminded that buses are replacing trains on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines this weekend with commuters urged to give themselves an extra 60 minutes travel time.
