A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl has tragically died after being pulled unconscious from a backyard pool in Sydney west.
It happened just as the sun started to set, at a home on Greenbank Drive at Werrigton Downs, near Penrith.
Paramedics were called to the property just before 8pm but despite their best efforts, the little girl could not be saved.

The toddler was rushed by ambulance to Nepean Hospital where sadly she was pronounced deceased.
Police from the Nepean Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They have established a crime scene at the home and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The tragedy comes just hours after a three-year-old boy was pulled unconscious from a swimming pool at a resort on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
It happened at the Q1 Hotel Resort and Spa in Surfers Paradise about 4.45pm.
Critical care paramedics treated the toddler at the scene before rushing him to the city’s University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
