Toddler killed in motorbike crash

A child has tragically died in a motorbike crash in far-north NSW.

The fatal accident happened on a private property at Delungra, west of Glen Innes, just before 9.30am on Tuesday.

“Police have been told a 29-year-old man was riding a Honda motorcycle in a paddock, with his 19-month-old daughter seated in front of him, when he lost control of the motorcycle causing the girl to be ejected,” NSW police said in a statement.

Paramedics desperately worked to save the youngster, but sadly, she could not be revived and died at the scene.

The rider was taken to Inverell Hospital where a mandatory blood and urine sample was taken.

Investigations are ongoing.
