Torrential rain forces Council to up mosquito fogging

Mosquito treatments will be stepped up across the Gold Coast following torrential rain that has seen numbers soar.

Council is taking immediate steps with fogging to take place in parts of our northern suburbs this week.

The fogging will start in Coombabah and Helensvale on Monday.

It will eventually progress north to Jacobs Well throughout the week.

Fogging planned for other parts of the Gold Coast is also being extended.

Treatment will take place in Benowa Waters, Isle of Capri, Bundall and Sorrento on Tuesday morning.

Fogging scheduled for Broadbeach Waters and Cypress Gardens on Wednesday will now include parts of Mermaid Waters.

Residents are also being urged to do their bit to reduce breeding areas for mosquitoes by emptying anything that is holding still water including bird baths, plant pots, containers and gutters.
