Traffic chaos on M1 after crash

TRAFFIC is at a standstill in both directions on the southern Gold Coast following a multi-vehicle crash.

The accident happened northbound at Exit 92, just before the Palm Beach off ramp, around 10.50am.

One person was treated at the scene by paramedics for neck pain before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

While lengthy delays are currently being experienced northbound from Currumbin to Bilinga, traffic is at a standstill southbound from Currumbin back to Worongary.

Motorists are being urged to delay travel or seek alternative routes.
