Traffic diversions in place after motorcyclist dies in truck crash

A MAN has died after his motorcycle and a truck collided south of Tweed Heads today.

The fatal accident happened on Kyogle Road at Uki, about 45km south of Tweed Heads, just before 10.30am.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics, the male rider died at the scene. Police say he is yet to be formally identified.


The male truck driver managed to escape uninjured.

Kyogle Road remains closed with traffic diversions currently in place.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway.

I happened to have witnessed this unfortunate event, my deepest condolences to the motor bike rider, love and light I send out to his family. As for the truck driver I am so sorry this happened and you were involved, I wish you all the best with the ongoing protocols it must be difficult, I don’t think anyone was at fault. Such a tragedy ..I’m glad no one else was hurt.
