Tugun will Light Up for the countdown to Christmas

Southern Gold Coasters will be able to enjoy the countdown to Christmas next week with the return of the annual Tugun Lights Up event.

On Saturday December 2, locals are invited to head along for some free, family fun from 4:30pm at Tugun Park, south of the Tugun Surf Club.

The kids will be able to enjoy a visit from Santa and his elves, while also enjoying a host of activities including face painting.

The event will conclude with the screening of 2003 Christmas comedy movie, Elf, starring Will Ferrell, from 7.00pm.

Connecting Southern Gold Coast (CSGC) CEO, Peter Doggett, said businesses and local families would again be getting into the spirit of Tugun Lights Up.

“It’s the perfect opportunity for locals to decorate their houses to join local businesses and buildings as they light the streets with dazzling shop facades and window displays.”

“The event has not only proven be very successful in previous years, but also benefits tourism and the economy for our local businesses in the Southern Gold Coast region.”
