Gold Coast family resort, Turtle Beach, is expanding to include the adjacent Turtle Bay Resort, following the recent acquisition of the Management Rights.
The move will increase the resort to over 400 rooms, with both properties accessible by the street frontage on the Gold Coast Highway at Mermaid Beach.
“In the coming months, we will be blending the Turtle Beach and Turtle Bay resorts together to increase the availability of short-term rentals at our resort,” said Dreamtime Resorts Marketing Manager, Garry McKenzie.

“We look forward to growing the options available to holiday guests of both properties.”
The merge comes after the recent multi-million dollar upgrade to the facilities at Turtle Beach Resort, including a million dollar waterpark, kid’s club and onsite restaurant and bar.
“With the recent facility upgrades to Turtle Beach Resort, merging with Turtle Bay will be a great step for the future of the complex,” said Turtle Beach Executive General Manager, Stephen West.
“As the Gold Coast’s favourite family holiday destination, the expansion to 409 rooms will, over time, mean more holiday fun for more families wanting to stay at Turtle Beach – just minutes to Gold Coast beaches, shopping centres, restaurants and cafés and within convenient distance to Gold Coast theme parks and attractions.
“On completion, our world class family-friendly facilities and prime location will be easily accessible to all our guests, no matter where they stay within the complex at Turtle Beach Resort, as the main Splash Zone Waterpark in centrally located,” said Mr West.
The upgraded resort’s facilities include:
- Million dollar Splash Zone waterpark
- Four separate swimming areas including lagoon pools, wading pools and spas
- Two children’s outdoor playgrounds
- Club Turtle Kids Club (ages 4 – 12)
- 15 hole putt putt golf
- Full size tennis court
- Chelonia Day Spa and fitness room
- Games rooms and 22 seat cinema
- Deck Restaurant and bar, located onsite
- Nine BBQ and entertainment areas
- Complementary Wi-Fi across the resort
- Onsite Tour Desk for theme park bookings, tickets and airport transfers
Works will commence in the coming months to facilitate the joining of the properties, with completion scheduled for early 2015.
