Hundreds of residents in Tweed will be without water today, after five water main breaks.
Council is working to repair the breaks across the region today, that have left around 250 properties without water.
The works are expected to take most of the day, though Council expects water to be running again after 4.00pm.

It’s understood the small mains are the older cement type but it is not known what has caused the spike in breakages.
Tweed Council says the following streets will be affected by water outages today:
- Ducat Street
- Compass Way
- The Mainbrace
- Angela Street
- Thomson Streets
- Pontresina Avenue
- The Quarterdeck – between Norman Street and Leeward Terrace.
“All the mains are small but it is inevitable that we will lose some water today despite the current Level 2 water restrictions,” Manager Water and Wastewater Anthony Burnham said.
