Two injured in M1 smash

TWO people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash on the Pacific Motorway.

The vehicle’s came to grief on the M1 at Helensvale about 5.45am.

Paramedics treated two people at the scene, including a woman for chest and abdominal injuries.

Queensland Ambulance said two people were transported from the scene.

They were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The crash was the latest in a string of accidents that kept paramedics busy overnight.

A man was seriously inured when he lost control of his car and collided with a pole at Nerang.
