URGENT: Gold Coast school forced to close after wild storm

Aquinas College on the Gold Coast has been forced to close their doors today after weekend storms left a trail of destruction.

The co-educational catholic college said in a post on Facebook on Monday that the school is closed “due to major flooding”.

“Urgent. Aquinas is closed today,” the post read.

“If your child is already at school please organise to collect them from the front.”

The college said the closure is a “safety precaution” due to “electrical and the amount of damage”.

Parents told myGC that they were alerted to the news via a text message and email early this morning.
