Wallabies forced to change line-up ahead of Gold Coast clash

THE Wallabies have been hit with a double injury blow ahead of Saturday night’s Rugby Championship clash with Agentina on the Gold Coast.

Vice-captain Adam Ashley-Cooper and number eight Wycliff Palu have been ruled out altogether.

Ashley-Cooper will only miss this week due to an ongoing neck problem, while Palu may be out longer after he suffered a head knock in the 24-23 win over South Africa.

Scott Higginbotham looks set to replace Palu in the meantime.

The injuries will also see the surprise return of 29-year-old Tatafu Polota-Nau, who ran with the starting side at training on the Gold Coast on Monday afternoon.

Polota-Nau’s return breaks coach Ewen McKenzie’s rule of not “rehabbing” injured players.

In the wing, Peter Betham and Joe Tomane look to be the most likely ahead of Saturday’s match at Cbus Super Stadium.
