Wallabies star Israel Folau facing backlash after same-sex marriage tweet

Rugby Union star Israel Folau is facing backlash after publicly revealing he does not support same-sex marriage.

Folau took to Twitter on Wednesday, writing: “I love and respect all people for who they are and their opinions. but personally, I will not support gay marriage.”

He ended the tweet with a few emoji’s including a peace sign and love heart.


The 28-year-old’s controversial post came only a day after The Wallabies revealed their support for same-sex marriage with a rainbow wallaby logo.
