Want $35k for your community group?

Community groups around the Gold Coast can today apply for up to $35,000 through the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The fund is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program, and distributes around $53 million per year to local community groups from money that the State Government receives through gambling revenue such as poker machines.

QLD’s Attorney-General Yvette D’Ath said Gold Coast groups would be able “to purchase much-needed equipment and upgrade their facilities…so they can improve the services they offer the community.”

“These not-for-profit groups are the lifeblood of our communities and it’s vital that we can support them as much as possible,” she said.

Groups have until midnight on Thursday November 30 to submit their application.
