It will be the first Chinese-themed race day in South East Queensland’s history and will provide an opportunity for racegoers to experience one of the most important dates in Chinese culture.
The raceday will also give the local Chinese community an opportunity to celebrate and learn more about the racing industry.
Aquis Park Marketing Manager Anne Reynolds told myGC in addition to racing, there will be loads of live entertainment by the track.
“We will be dressing parts of the track red! There will be a huge eight to ten metre lantern entrance, and we will also have local lion dancing and umbrella dancing,” she said.
“There will be a few surprises on the day, so we aren’t revealing all the details about the entertainers.”
The Chinese Lunar New Year Raceday is on February 17 at Aquis Park. General admission is free at the gate on the day and there are also a number of Chinese themed dining experiences on offer. For more information, visit: gctc.com.au/event/cny-raceday/
