A Facebook page created by a Gold Coaster is helping thousands of Queenslanders support frontline healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Chris Fowler created the Adopt a Healthcare Worker – QLD Facebook page last week as a way for people to connect with healthcare workers in their area to provide practical support.
Healthcare workers simply post their postcode and what they need – meals, groceries, someone to do household chores – on the page, and then those who can assist are able to reach out to them and provide support.

So far, more than 11,000 people have joined the page.
“There are people that are cooking meals, there is a delivery service, and one lady is even driving staff members who are working late at Gold Coast Hospital,” Chris told myGC.
