The giant pumpkin, which weighed approximately 800kg, exploded when it hit the ground, spraying onlookers.
The pumpkin was grown by Paul and Cheryl Fulk, who have been harvesting giant veggies since 2008.
For next year’s festival, the couple hope to harvest a pumpkin weighing more than 900kg.
