WATCH: Gold Coast teen invents non-slip sunscreen

A Gold Coast teen has created a ‘100% natural non-slip sunscreen’ and is now calling out for investors to help get it developed.

Joshua Aptiz told myGC he came up with the idea for Seagull Milk sunscreen after becoming frustrated with using slippery sunscreens while surfing.

“Slippery sunscreens is a big bummer for a lot of people, especially surfers, so I thought it would be a good to make one that was non-slip. Seagull Milk was created for surfers who don’t want to slip off their boards or have slippery hands,” he told myGC.

“Being all natural, it’s also great for people with sensitive skin and it is vegan friendly too.”

The 15-year-old is now on the hunt for backers and has launched an indiegogo funding page to raise money to cover the sunscreen’s initial manufacturing costs.

“It would be great to get as much support as we can,” he said.
